📅 How I Stay Organized in PA School: A Week in My Planner

Because success in PA school isn’t just about what you study—it’s about how you organize your time.

PA school is chaos—in the best, most caffeinated way possible. Between non-stop lectures, rotations, exams, and trying to squeeze in some form of sleep or self-care, keeping everything together can feel impossible.

But staying organized isn’t just helpful—it’s survival.

That’s why I rely on myPAbox Study Buddy to keep my week structured, focused, and (mostly) stress-free. Here’s how I use it to manage my time, stay accountable, and actually enjoy the process.

🧭 My Weekly Planner Breakdown (Using Study Buddy)

🔁 Sunday – The Reset & Plan Day

  • Goal: Set up my week with intention.

  • I start by opening Study Buddy’s planner dashboard to review the week ahead. I plug in:

    • Upcoming exams or quizzes

    • Rotation shifts or clinical blocks

    • Personal goals (like 3 gym sessions or a dinner with friends)

  • I assign daily study themes (e.g., Monday = Cardio, Tuesday = Pulm) using the study scheduler.

🔹 Pro Tip: Use Study Buddy’s “Priority Tags” to label what’s high yield for the week—makes it way easier to focus.

📚 Monday – Focus + Flashcard Day

  • Goal: Deep dive into a major system.

  • Today’s focus is Cardiology. I open my tagged Cardio notes and:

    • Complete a 30-minute focused quiz

    • Use the flashcard feature with spaced repetition

    • Highlight any weak spots for review later in the week

🔹 I also set a 20-minute timer using the built-in Pomodoro tracker—keeps me from burning out early in the day.

🧠 Tuesday – Light Review + Clinical Prep

  • Goal: Reinforce what I learned and prep for tomorrow’s clinical.

  • Review yesterday’s flagged flashcards

  • Pull up case-based questions related to tomorrow’s rotation

  • Use Study Buddy to jot down quick clinical notes and expected differentials

📈 Wednesday – Rotation + Reflection

  • Goal: Apply and log clinical insights.

  • After my rotation, I use Study Buddy’s notes and voice memo feature to:

    • Record quick pearls from attendings

    • Save cases I want to look up later

  • I also update my planner with anything new that came up (labs to review, patient follow-up topics, etc.)

🔍 Thursday – Quiz + Weak Area Review

  • Goal: Identify gaps and patch them up.

  • I open the auto-saved "missed questions" folder and quiz myself.

  • I spend 45 mins going over my weakest topics of the week.

  • I finish with a quick “check-in” on Study Buddy to make sure I’m on track for my weekly goals.

✅ Friday – EOR Prep & Chill Mode

  • Goal: Light study and future planning.

  • Knock out 1 practice EOR block (20 questions)

  • Review explanations and flag confusing topics

  • Plan next week using the built-in goal tracker

  • Reward myself with some non-medical downtime

☀️ Saturday – Flex Day

  • Catch up on anything I missed

  • Do a “random system” quiz for fun

  • Use Study Buddy’s audio feature while doing chores or walking outside

🧩 Why This System Works for Me
